Pinterest has just published its first-ever Beauty Trend Report, and the headline finding is this: nobody wants the look any more.
They want their look. Not a bob, but a textured French bob. Not a red manicure, but a dark-red cat-eye manicure. Not pink hair, but one defiant pink stripe tucked behind the ear.
Pinterest calls it specificity, and the logic is hard to argue with. When a beauty trend can go from niche to everywhere before you have even booked the appointment, copying it beat for beat stops being the point. The flex is in the edit. Beauty, in other words, is getting more referential, and more personal because of it.

The tech: Pinterest is using the report to push its new Beauty Guides feature. Open a hair or nail Pin in Closeup, tap “Get the Guide”, and you get a breakdown of the look, what to ask for at the salon, similar inspiration and shoppable products. It is currently available to iOS users in the US, with a wider rollout promised over the coming weeks, so UK users will have to carry on screenshotting for now.
Why we care: Among weekly users, 85% say they discovered new beauty trends or ideas on Pinterest before seeing them anywhere else, and 64% say it is better than other platforms for finding trends that actually feel current. So when Pinterest publishes a trend report, it is less a forecast than a leaked script for the next six months of your feed.
Pinterest says the report draws on search growth across its platform, measured year on year, and the numbers below are its own. Keep scrolling for the full edit, from frosted metallics to nails that look like a coffee order…
Skinvested
Shower, scrub, glow, repeat. The post-shower reset has become a full routine, with dry brushing, exfoliating and glycolic-acid body washes, retinol body lotion and rich moisturisers turning everyday maintenance into something closer to skincare for the whole body. “Body wash for glowing skin” is up 206 per cent, “body care routine aesthetic” 202 per cent, “dry brushing routine” 147 per cent and “retinol body lotion” 144 per cent. Haircare is getting the same treatment: “scalp detox” (21 per cent) and “scalp scrub recipe” (31 per cent) are both climbing.

Pink-a-Boo
Pink hair, but make it a decision rather than a dye job. The all-over fuchsia moment has given way to chunky stripes, teal pairings and dusty-rose pieces: a tiny face-framing streak, a peekaboo panel underneath, or one full bright-pink section. Searches for “pink hair stripe” are up 463 per cent, “teal and pink hair” 273 per cent and “dusty rose pink hair” 198 per cent. The wildcard in the data is “bedazzled claw clip”, up 749 per cent, which tells you exactly how this hair is being worn.

Arctic Frost
Frosted makeup, metallic lips, silver liner, crystal accents and pastel-blue shadow are giving the makeup bag an icy, slightly futuristic edge. “Frosted makeup” is up 286 per cent, “bleached brows makeup” 53 per cent, “metallic lips” 52 per cent and “silver eyeliner makeup” 48 per cent. There is also a quiet Y2K revival in there (“frosted lips 2000s”, up 42 per cent) for anyone who never emotionally let go of the clear lip gloss era.

Cheeky Flush
Blush is doing the most, and we respect it. Peach, berry, terracotta and dusty-rose creams are being swept high across the cheekbones and up into the temples for that just-ran-into-your-crush flush. “Dusty rose blush” is up 189 per cent, “terracotta blush makeup” 164 per cent and “peach blush makeup” 148 per cent, with “cloud skin” (153 per cent) and “soft wispy lashes” (199 per cent) as the supporting cast. Keep the skin soft, the lips blurred, the lashes feathery. Rosy, romantic, a little extra.

Eau So Cosy
Fragrance is going sweeter, softer and frankly more edible. Marshmallow perfume (up 248 per cent) and milky perfume (134 per cent) are leading the cosy gourmand wave, alongside layerable body mists in strawberry, chocolate and “sweet tooth” flavours. The bigger shifts are structural: “solid perfume aesthetic” is up 333 per cent, “skin scent” 287 per cent and “fragrance wardrobe” 210 per cent. Translation: one signature scent is out, a rotating cast of close-to-the-skin ones is in.

Bob Behaviour
The bob is still the haircut of the moment, but it has loosened up. Instead of one sharp, perfectly blunt line, the focus is on movement: “long layered bob haircuts” are up 622 per cent, “short layered bob haircuts” 571 per cent, “French bob with wispy bangs” 394 per cent and “textured French bob” 338 per cent. Flipped ends, shaggy layers and curtain bangs all feature. These cuts still have shape; they just work with your texture instead of fighting it.

Romantic Reverie
Romance and regency inspired beauty is written all over the face this season. “Soft natural makeup looks” are up 105 per cent, along with “freckle makeup look” (70 per cent), “natural lips” (68 per cent), “bronzer blush” (61 per cent) and, tellingly, “no mascara makeup” (33 per cent).

The hair belongs to the same world: “curly butterfly cut” is up 464 per cent and “French curl braids” 210 per cent, all loose texture and wisps around the face. Pinterest’s own description is the beauty look of a heroine caught between chapters, which is a lot to ask of a blush but we are here for it.

Latte Lacquer
Latte nails have been taking orders at the coffee shop. “Caramel nude nails” are up 943 per cent, “coffee nails ideas” 922 per cent, “raspberry jelly nails” 828 per cent and “earthy nail inspo” 578 per cent. Iced latte, almond milky, blood orange and chocolate-covered strawberry all make the list. Cosy but playful, like an autumn farmers’ market in manicure form.

Copper Waves
Red hair has entered its autumn 2026 era. Mocha, espresso, cherry cola, plum and copper are building a warmer, moodier palette, with darker bases ribboned through with lighter colour rather than going full fire-engine red. The numbers are some of the biggest in the report: “mocha balayage hair” is up 949 per cent, “soft copper blonde” 845 per cent, “cherry cola brunette hair” 788 per cent and “oxidised copper hair” 517 per cent. Also having a moment, for reasons Pinterest does not fully explain: “curly wolf cut man”, up 514 per cent.

Farm To Face
Farm fresh beauty is being built from the inside out, and from the back of the fridge. “Bone broth benefits for women” is up 782 per cent, “rosemary water for hair” 269 per cent, “avocado face mask recipe” 141 per cent and “coffee body scrub recipe” 129 per cent, with rice water, turmeric, Greek yoghurt, blueberries and olive oil all finding their way into the glow-up. “Skin foods” as a category is up 35 per cent. DIY masks and hair rinses are officially back on the menu, which is good news for your bathroom shelf and bad news for your avocados.

Chrome Sweet Chrome
Chrome nails, cat-eye, jelly and aurora effects are being paired with polka dots, stripes, hot pink and darker gothic details until a manicure reads as an accessory in its own right. “Polka dot cat eye nails” is up 1,585 per cent, “jelly pink chrome nails” 1,469 per cent, “milky white chrome nails almond” 1,402 per cent and “goth cat eye nails” 911 per cent. The more unexpected the finish, the better. The biggest percentage jumps in the entire report belong to nails, and specifically to reflective finishes that have stopped behaving.
