Our Review on the Digital Fitness Platform “Obè”

High energy workouts with instructors inside a neon box, what more could you want?

I tried Obè Fitness for a week. Here’s the run-down: 

What is it? 

Obè Fitness is a digital workout platform, offering live and on-demand workouts. These range from high-intensity, boxing, cardio, pilates, yoga, and so much more. The instructors are engaging and fun, and the classes are filmed within a neon box...which is really aesthetically pleasing. 

How much does it cost? 

The platform is pretty affordable when compared to gym memberships or in-person fitness classes. In NYC, one in-person class typically costs me around $35. Obè offers a free 7-day trial before your subscription starts. Once activated, the monthly cost is $19 for unlimited classes, which is a steal in my opinion! If you’re ready to commit, the yearly price comes in at $199, which again is pretty cost-effective. 

Why is it different?

Obè Fitness feels different from other digital fitness platforms for a few reasons. My favorite part is that there’s a wide variety of options! Subscribing to a digital yoga platform is amazing for your mental health and flexibility, but what about the days you need to sweat off that late night pizza? I like that with Obè I can choose my workout type and intensity based on what I’m looking for that day. 

Does it get personal?

Obè Fitness founders, Ashley Mills and Mark Mullet, wanted to make the boutique NYC fitness scene accessible to everyone. This meant that the workouts needed to be “big city” quality with high-energy instructors to match. "We wanted to develop an immersive digital community that everyone felt a part of," Mullett shares. "It wasn't just about creating a service for people to take classes, we wanted them to feel genuinely connected to other members and instructors. Engagement in the community has always been important to us." The founders definitely succeeded in creating a fun and energetic community! Users can reach out to instructors anytime, and guess what?!? They ACTUALLY respond.

What else do I need to know? 

Do you need to wash your hair after? Possibly. While a “flow” class may not cause too much of a sweat, a shower was most definitely needed after the dance-cardio sessions. Do you need props? A mat is most likely needed if you want to save your knee caps. A lot of the toning and sculpting classes take place on the ground. Another optional prop were ankle weights, and I’m obsessed with my Bala ones. How much space do you need? If I’m able to do it in my NYC apartment, you can do it anywhere, trust me.
