There are two kinds of networking events in London.
The first involves fluorescent lighting, lukewarm wine and someone aggressively explaining crypto to you before you’ve even taken your coat off.
The second – thankfully – looks a lot more like The Modems Breakfast Club.
On Thursday 21 May, founders, creatives, marketers, editors, consultants and AI-curious women gathered inside the softly lit interiors of Scarfes Bar at Rosewood London for the inaugural edition of The Modems Breakfast Club: The Basics of Vibe-Coding – our new event series designed to make conversations around AI feel more accessible, collaborative and culturally relevant.
Hosted by The Modems founder Natalie Salmon and led by AI educator Chloé Watts, the sold-out breakfast session explored how non-technical professionals can begin using AI tools in genuinely practical ways – from prompting and workflows to launching ideas faster and building businesses without needing a traditional technical background.

Guests spent the morning testing prompts, discussing AI workflows and debating which tools were actually worth using. Somewhere between the pastries and the prompting, strangers became collaborators, WhatsApps were exchanged and entire workflows shifted before 10AM.

The event was intentionally designed to feel less like a traditional tech conference and more like an editorial salon – combining community, creativity and career development without the intimidating jargon or tech-bro energy that often surrounds conversations about AI.
And judging by the speed at which tickets disappeared, women are more than ready for spaces like this.
