Biohacking Beauty: Davinia Taylor on avoiding matcha, her go-to ingredients and which collagen to try now

If you’ve ever googled “biohacking for beginners” or questioned whether your afternoon slump is actually a blood sugar crash, chances are Davinia Taylor’s no-nonsense wellness advice has already landed on your ‘For You Page.’ The former Hollyoaks actress turned supplement mogul has reinvented herself as one of the most relatable voices in the health optimisation space – less Silicon Valley tech bro, more school-run survivalist with a collagen sachet in one hand and a dopamine-boosting coffee in the other.

Part of London’s original It-girl set (aka the Primrose Hill posse which included Meg Mathews, Kate Moss, Sadie Frost, the lot), Davinia has gone from party girl to poster woman for hormone-balancing, brain-boosting and gut-healing. Now a 3X bestselling author and the founder of WillPowders – her cult range of supplements – she’s on a mission to help women biohack their bodies without burning out. Whether she’s broadcasting her latest sauna session or breaking down why you might want to stop chugging eight glasses of water a day, Davinia delivers wellness advice with a Northern twang, a dry sense of humour, and zero performative fluff.

What makes her approach so refreshing? It’s rooted in lived experience – from navigating addiction to managing ADHD – but always backed by the latest in functional medicine and cutting-edge science. With her signature blend of beauty hacks, brain-boosting supplements, and lifestyle tweaks that actually fit into a busy schedule, Davinia’s version of self-care isn’t about restriction.

Scroll on as Davinia shares the gadgets, tools, and tech-powered rituals behind her high-vibe, high-functioning biohacking beauty routine…

Biohacking Beauty With Davinia Taylor

I initially got into beauty biohacking because of…

Mental health, as I felt like I had flat lined, which led me to biohacking and remarkably as I began to feel better, I started to look better too, I was less inflamed, waterlogged and bloated, especially around the chin area.

One wearable I can’t live without is…

My Oura ring, which helps me check my beauty sleep and helps me prove to my husband Matthew that I’ve had less sleep than him, in the ongoing parental wars!

When it comes to apps…

I love the Flow App, it’s quite expensive but it really helps to explain a lot of behavioural issues!

 My morning ritual starts by…

Sticking the kettle on and making myself an organic coffee with Willpowders (MCT) Keto powder and collagen. I then continue to add our collagen throughout the day to all my drinks as this is bovine collagen and not marine (which contains micro plastics and sewage – ewwwww!)

To optimise sleep…

I have a pop up infra-red sauna which I put in front of my TV and enjoy a nice glass of Kombucha.  If I have trouble switching off, I have a couple of Willpowders Calms which contain L-Theanine, and I also add 10g of collagen to camomile tea which helps turn off my overactive mind and helps me get a deep sleep.

Nootropics help me because…

I have ADHD, I am naturally low on dopamine, which causes me to procrastinate especially with boring tasks like going to the gym and doing tax returns! I take Willpowders Brain Powder which boosts my dopamine without giving me jitters and helps make the mundane doable.

Let’s talk supplements…

I have Keto (MCT) powder in the morning which helps reduce my cravings for carbs, I have Brain Powder for motivation and mental energy and Willpowders Protein Powder which is made with bone broth for no bloat nutrition.  I take Insulin Support after a carb heavy meal and Calms in times of stress or overwhelm, which really help to take the edge off, oh and I always take Rise & Shine if I have a sneaky Chinese take away!

Cold plunges and infrared saunas…

Cold exposure is great, but you must flip a coin to decide if you are going to do it or not, to keep your body guessing otherwise your body adapts to it and you don’t get the benefits. Infrared saunas are great as they detox and reduce stress, they can reduce all-cause mortality by 30%.

An overhyped beauty-tech trend is…

AG1 as it makes you bloat and trump, and no one wants that in the gym!

If I could invent a wellness tech product, it would be…

Immediate sleep restoration, even if you’ve had a late night, creatine can help with poor sleep, which is in our protein powder.

Science-backed skincare I swear by…

I like to drink my collagen as it helps to reduce my sugar intake which can cause skin issues, I like to do it from the inside out!

Screens and tech overstimulation…

Is impacting our eyesight and reducing deep sleep, which is the best beauty hack!

I wish the beauty industry would stop saying to…

Drink eight glasses of water a day, I think this is based on warped data, I think it’s better to drink when thirsty, our bodies will tell us when that is.

My game-changing skin/energy hack is…

Eating natural fats

If I could give my 18-year-old self one piece of advice…

Go to bed!
