A majority of women wake up at 6am for work and read their emails straight away

It looks like we are a nation of early-birds

In a study conducted by CV-Library stated that after women wake up, it was found the majority catch up on emails, plan the day ahead and check social media.

According to the latest research, the majority (66.9%) of women wake up at 6am for work every day, with a further 32.7% stating that they get just 6.5 hours sleep a night.

The study of 2,000 UK professionals found that only 5.4% of women get 8.5 hours of sleep per night, with one in 10 (11.8%) even admitting that they wake up as early as 4.30am every day. The study went on to ask respondents what they like to do with their time before work, with the average working woman’s routine including the following:

Catching up on emails (36.7%)

Scheduling the day ahead (28.7%)

Checking social media (26.9%)

Spending time with loved ones (24.3%)

Walking the dog (13.6%)

Networking over coffee (10.4%)

Working out (9.8%)

Texting their friends (8.6%)

Meditating (7.1%)

Texting their partner (7.1%)

Interestingly, over half (54.5%) of women don’t think that waking up early benefits your career. However, of the 45.5% who believe it is, 60.6% said it helps them get ahead of their work, 51% said it makes them feel more alert and 46.5% said it makes them feel more organised.

Lee Biggins, founder and CEO of CV-Library explained: “Naturally, you’re going to pack a lot more into your day if you make the most of the early hours, but only if you’re fully awake and ready to be productive. Tasks like working out or meditating can set you up for a great day ahead, but there’s no use trying to start a routine that’s not sustainable in the long run.”
