Apple enthusiasts are thrilled that the new iPhone 15 is adopting a standard USB-C power connector.
Balenciaga featured Lightning Port cables in their runway show in 2020
This means you can essentially now use a single charger for all the devices in your home. For nearly a decade, Apple has exclusively used its Lightning port in iPhones. However, they’ve confirmed that the iPhone 15 will feature a USB-C charging port, the same one currently used for charging iPads and Macs. Apple is also transitioning the AirPods Pro to also use USB-C, which is expected to mean faster charging.
Apple will now use USB-C
The USB-C charging port is widely adopted, not only in Android phones but also in various Apple devices, including the most recent iPad and MacBook models. The latest EU legislation has the goal of establishing this charging design as the universal standard, with the ultimate aim of reducing electronic waste.
RIP: Lightning port 2012 – 2023
Fans have taken to X (formerly known as Twitter), to express their joyous (and of course hilarious) reactions.
Here’s how Twitter is reacting to the death of the Lightining Port:
Apple finally dumped the iPhone's Lightning port for USB-C, but don't worry, it's selling a $29 dongle that you'll never need. $AAPL https://t.co/8OynGnRlgq

Love how apple hypes the USB C charging port on its new iphone 15 and how it's the better port compared to lightning as is the world doesn't know that yet. LOL!
