If Kendall Jenner were a car, she’d probably be a Lucid

Meet Lucid motors, Tesla’s new competitor (and their cars just sold out…..)

So far Lucid Motors has garnered more attention than a Kardashian-Jenner attending the MET Gala. The new ‘it’ car on the market is opening showrooms in some of the wealthiest U.S. cities, and they’re now selling out of cars before they’ve even been made.

Their Air Dream Edition has a waitlist longer than a coveted NYC restaurant. With the ability to design and customise a car that doesn’t yet exist, electric car enthusiasts are jumping all in.

The Lucid Air Dream Edition carries a price tag of $169,000 securing its spot as the most expensive EV (electric vehicle) on the market. We all want what we can’t have, right? If you aren’t one of the lucky ones to secure the limited edition car, the ‘second best’ model is also able to reserve now, the Lucid Air Grand Touring. There is always an option to upgrade to the Dream Edition from there if one becomes available, of course.

There is also another more ‘affordable’ option, the Air Pure, which is also customisable. Lucid Motors states that their cars take around 20 minutes to charge for every 300 miles.

The exterior is designed to take after a private jet, befitting its ‘Air’ moniker. The Lucid models are designed by engineers in California with aerodynamics at the heart of the operations, allowing the cars to smoothly move through air, uninterrupted. The interior is…. you guessed it, also inspired by a private jet.

Californian, eco-friendly and seriously attractive? These cars just sat next to Bella Hadid at Amfar and booked the latest Chanel eyewear campaign.

To escalate the experience, (as if you needed to) the Lucid Motor cars also have a custom-design audio system called Surreal Sound. The system uses Dolby Atmos technology and 21 speakers, making for a ‘next-level in-car audio experience.’

The CEO of Lucid Motors, Peter Rawlinson, remains in good spirits as his cars continue to sell out and a recent merger with Churchill Capital Group IV. This merger would assist Lucid in going public as a company, only enhancing their competition with Tesla. When asked about the partnership with Churchill Capital, Peter stated, ‘Together we plan to expand into new markets and deliver miraculous technology that an unsuspecting world is soon to experience. We believe it’s good for Lucid, our customers, and of course the planet.’
