Move over tiaras and catwalks – Miss England has entered the digital age. In a plot twist we didn’t see coming, the 2025 competition has introduced its first-ever Artificial Intelligence round, where beauty meets business… and your avatar might just be better at public speaking than you are.

Partnering with the tech company MirrorMe, Miss England has launched “The Miss England Business Avatar Round”, giving contestants the chance to create their own fully animated digital twin. Think: an AI version of yourself that can deliver presentations, attend meetings, and speak in over 140 languages – all without a smudge of lip gloss.

Contestants take part in a two-hour filming session where their avatar is brought to life with voiceovers, facial expressions, and mannerisms. It’s not just a fun gimmick – it’s a real opportunity to learn how to use AI to build a personal brand, earn income, and explore a career in tech. Talk about modern-day multitasking.

London-based semi-finalist Afton McKeith was the first to take the digital plunge. “It’s such an exciting honour to be the first Miss England contestant to experience the Avatar round,” she told Miss England News. “This initiative is a brilliant way to encourage more young women to step into the world of business and technology… It’s about working smarter and exploring new ways to build your brand, create income and stay present even when you’re not physically available.”

Gone are the days of pageants being just about gowns and catwalk struts. National organiser Angie Beasley, who’s been with the competition for 23 years, put it perfectly: “Miss England has always been about more than just looks… This round is about confidence, presence and impact – whether you’re in the room or on a screen.”

This year, the AI avatar performances will actually form part of the semi-final and final judging process, meaning contestants will be scored not just on presence, but on their tech-savviness too.
