Phoebe Gates Says She Uses ChatGPT To Create Viral Content For Her Start Up

Phoebe Gates isn’t just known for her famous last name anymore. The 22-year-old Stanford grad-turned-entrepreneur is carving her own space in the fashion-tech world with Phia, an AI-powered platform that compares clothing prices across 40,000 websites. And yes, she’s doing it without a penny from Bill and Melinda.

In the debut episode of The Burnouts podcast, which she co-hosts with fellow Gen Z powerhouse and U.N. climate advisor Sophia Kianni, Phoebe opened up about how she’s leaning on AI to market her brand. Spoiler: ChatGPT is her secret weapon.

“I use AI almost every single day, and it supercharges me,” Phoebe said on the show, adding that she and Sophia reverse-engineer viral videos to guide their content. They even break down high-performing clips in Excel to pinpoint what makes them pop, then model their own founder videos around those formulas.

“You should not be starting anything from scratch. The internet exists for a reason,” Sophia added, summing up the duo’s very Gen Z, very efficient approach.

The co-founders don’t just analyse viral content – they reshape it. Sophia explained how she uses AI to transform transcripts of trending videos into brand-relevant scripts for Phia. “I turned that transcript into, like, I wrote a description of Phia, then I put that into ChatGPT, and I asked it, ‘Can you turn this script into one that works for Phia?'” she said.

The result? Sharper messaging, faster content creation, and a growing fashion-tech startup that knows how to speak internet fluently.

Phia, which officially launched in April 2025, is essentially the Skyscanner of shopping – it trawls tens of thousands of websites to help users find the best deals on clothes. Whether you’re hunting down that trending TikTok dress or just trying to avoid overpaying for basics, Phia does the digital legwork.
