Booking a place to crash is so 2024. This summer, Airbnb is flipping the travel game again with its biggest update in years – introducing Airbnb Services, Airbnb Experiences, and a totally redesigned Airbnb app that now does a lot more than just sort your sleeping arrangements.

“Seventeen years ago, we changed the way people travel,” said Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky. “Now, with the launch of services and experiences, we’re changing travel again. You can Airbnb more than an Airbnb.”

What’s New?

At its core, Airbnb is becoming your travel planner, glam squad, tour guide, and concierge – all in one app. Whether you want a Michelin-level chef at your Airbnb, a massage without leaving the property, or a personal styling session with Jamie Mizrahi (yes, the Jamie who styles Adele), it’s all now bookable through Airbnb.

Airbnb Services

Launching in 260 cities, Airbnb Services covers everything from personal training to facials to in-home catering. Think hotel perks without the hotel vibe. Categories include:

• Chefs for private dinners or meal prep

• Makeup artists for events or everyday glam

• Massage therapists and spa pros on demand

• Fitness trainers, including championship-level talent

• Photographers, hair stylists, nail techs and more

All providers are vetted, licensed, and often elite – some have Michelin stars or celeb clients. Prices range from under $50 to luxury levels. You don’t even have to be staying in an Airbnb to use them.

Airbnb Experiences

Also launching globally in 650+ cities, Airbnb Experiences are curated by locals – no megaphone-wielding tour guides in sight. Whether it’s horse-riding through Incan ruins, ramen-making with a Michelin chef, or styling sessions with Hollywood’s elite, each activity is designed for authenticity.

There’s also Airbnb Originals, exclusive events hosted by celebrities. Like transforming into an anime character with Megan Thee Stallion or learning spirals (and snacking on BBQ) with Patrick Mahomes.

As Chesky puts it, “Don’t just see a place – experience it.”

The All-New App

All of this lives in a redesigned Airbnb app that bundles homes, services, and experiences in one place. There’s:

• A smart homepage that recommends activities and services based on your trip

• A detailed itinerary tab that acts as your travel hub

• Upgraded messaging (with video sharing and in-app payments)

• New tools for hosts offering services and experiences, including a real-time calendar
