Say goodbye to the spa and hello to professional-level beauty treatments from your couch. At-home beauty tech is booming, with high street stores reporting skyrocketing sales of gadgets promising to replicate salon-level facials, massages, and skincare treatments. From LED light masks to microneedling tools, these devices are the new must-haves for beauty-savvy shoppers.
From Salons to Living Rooms: The DIY Beauty Shift
The pandemic changed everything, including our beauty routines. With salons shuttered, people turned to at-home treatments—and they’ve stuck with them. Now, brands are capitalizing on advancements in beauty tech, offering products that promise the same results as in-salon treatments but with the convenience of staying home.

Sales of beauty tech devices are growing four times faster than the overall skincare market, according to a report by the Beauty Tech Group. Among the most sought-after items are LED light masks, loved by celebrities like Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham. These masks emit red light, said to stimulate collagen production and reduce wrinkles.
“The demand for beauty tech has been hard to miss,” says Grace Vernon, Head of Global Foresight and Trends at Boots and No7.
“Consumers are looking for the same effect as LED therapy found in spas and salons, but in the comfort of their own homes.”
