Like most people, I love the idea of having a curated wardrobe, but in reality, my closet is more chaos than capsule. I know what I like, but between endless scrolling on fashion sites and impulse purchases that sit unworn, my wardrobe could use some serious TLC. Enter Mush, a personal styling and wardrobe analysis service that promises to bring order (and style) to your life. Naturally, I had to give it a shot.
The Setup
The process began with a 30-minute video consultation with a Mush stylist. It was like having a casual chat with a fashion-savvy bestie. She asked all the right questions:
- What’s your typical weekend outfit?
- Do you have any red-flag items you refuse to wear?
- What are your favorite brands?
- What’s your personality vibe?

Albina and I in our Zoom consultation
I loved how thoughtful she was. Instead of pushing trends, she focused on understanding me—my lifestyle, my preferences, and the quirks that make up my personal style. After our call, she went off to work her styling magic, and a few days later, my curated wardrobe was ready in the Mush app.
The Reveal
When I opened the app, I was greeted with a digital wardrobe of individual items—think coats, shoes, accessories—all tailored to my style. But the real game-changer was the pre-styled looks. My stylist put together five outfits with names like:
- Everyday Walks/Meetings (three variations)
- Evening or Meeting
- Throw a Jumper Over Your Shoulder
The best part? Many pieces overlapped across different outfits, making everything feel versatile and intentional. Plus, every item was linked directly to the retailer, so if I wanted to buy it, I didn’t have to hunt it down.
Another standout feature of Mush is how they work with your existing wardrobe. Clients upload their current wardrobe to the app, and stylists create fresh outfits using those items. From there, they suggest a couple of additional pieces to purchase to elevate your style further. It’s the perfect mix of reimagining what you already own while sprinkling in just the right amount of newness.
The Highs and Lows
What I Loved
- Time-Saving Brilliance: The stylist handled the endless scrolling for me. I didn’t have to navigate 100 tabs on Mango and Zara to find the perfect coat.
- On-Point Style: She nailed my aesthetic, blending my love for comfy chic with a polished edge.
- Shopability: Each item was linked, making it insanely easy to buy. No second-guessing or aimless browsing.
What I Didn’t Love
- Sticker Shock: Some pieces were wildly expensive (hello, Prada loafers and Loewe jewelry). But honestly? They gave me great inspo to find affordable dupes.
Creating My Own Look Inspired by Mush
While I loved browsing the curated pieces, I wanted to see if I could recreate one of the outfits using my existing wardrobe. I started with the “Every day, walks, meetings” look—a perfect blend of comfort and style.
I dug out my trusty trench coat, paired it with a white shirt, loose jeans, a cream knitted beanie and my Adidas’s. I added in some pink gloves, a belt and a pinstripe waistcoat for some extra touches. I even added a crossbody bag and some gold jewellery, just like the app suggested. The result? A polished, put-together outfit that I already owned but never thought to combine this way.

Stepping out in my Mush styled outfit
It felt so satisfying to realise I didn’t need to buy anything new to get that fresh, styled feeling. Sometimes, all you need is a little inspiration and guidance to see your wardrobe with new eyes.
Final Thoughts
Mush was like having my own personal stylist without the intimidating price tag of one IRL. Even if you don’t buy every piece, the app inspires you to rethink your wardrobe. It’s perfect for anyone who’s tired of wearing the same rotation of outfits but doesn’t have time to fix it themselves.
Would I use Mush again? 100%. My wardrobe feels fresh, functional, and most importantly—me. I feel like I am looking at it with fresh eyes, seeing pieces in a new way that I hadn’t before.
