Ikea has quietly been building the smart-home of the future – and now, it’s giving that future a glow-up.

The Swedish retailer has launched 21 new Matter-compatible products that promise to make connected living simple, stylish, and, in true Ikea fashion, affordable.

Gone are the days of complicated setups and competing ecosystems. Ikea’s new range, spanning lighting, sensors, and remote controls, finally bridges the gap between design and digital living. David Granath, Range Manager at Ikea, explains, “Until now, smart-home technology hasn’t been easy enough to use for most people – or affordable enough for many to consider. This launch brings us closer to helping everyone feel ready and confident to get started.”

All 21 products are Matter-compatible, meaning they can connect seamlessly with other smart-home brands – think Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa – through Ikea’s DIRIGERA hub, a certified Matter controller.

This isn’t just a firmware update; it’s a full system rethink. IKEA has rebuilt its connected-home ecosystem from the ground up, testing products in real homes to understand how people actually live – and where smart tech genuinely helps.

“We’re upgrading our most-appreciated products while adding new ones to solve even more everyday challenges. Our focus has been on keeping things simple from setup to daily use,” explains Stjepan Begic, Product Developer at Ikea.
