Vertu Agent Q Review: The Luxury AI Smartphone Redefining Mobile Intelligence

When you’re used to your phone being a hub of endless taps and tiny icons, the launch of the new Vertu Agent Q at London’s luxury landmark Harrods felt like a breath of haute couture in the mobile world.

“Not another app. Not another assistant. The world’s first AI Agent Phone that delivers, not just connects,” explained CEO Wiji Singh Gorwara, setting the tone for a device that aims to flip everything about how we think of smartphones.

A phone that wears couture — Vertu’s handcrafted leather finishes redefine what it means to dress your tech.

At the elegant Georgian-style restaurant inside Harrods, the launch event – hosted by Natalie Salmon, founder of The Modems – gave us a first-look at Agent Q, a handset that wears its opulence as boldly as it wears its intelligence. Inspired by the rarest gyrfalcon, crafted as art, and built to end the app era, Agent Q fuses Vertu’s signature luxury with what it claims to be “the world’s most advanced intelligence.”

Apps are so yesterday:

In a world where smartphones often feel like a labyrinth of icons and distractions, Agent Q promises something radically different. Until now, AI agents mostly lived on PCs – smart systems that could understand intent, plan tasks, orchestrate services. Vertu claims to be the first to bring that power into your pocket. With Agent Q, “No apps. No friction. Just intent, delivered.” That translates into: instead of opening five apps to organise a trip, you speak your wish once (“Book me a trip to Tokyo, same standard as New York, and secure a table at Ryugin.”) and the phone begins to do the rest.

Move over Swiss watches — Vertu’s Falcon-Wing back plate brings horological mastery to the smartphone world.

Imagine telling your device what you want and having it just happen. That’s the promise – and the pivot – of Agent Q.

Meet VPS: your invisible executive team:

Inside Agent Q lives the Vertu Productivity Suite (VPS) – a toolbox of AI agents designed just for high-net-worth individuals: entrepreneurs, founders, executives, and anyone who switches roles like they switch coffee. Think of it as dozens of specialist assistants wrapped into one sleek phone. From finance to legal, health to operations, these agents “orchestrate tasks end-to-end, helping clients live and work with efficiency, clarity, and ease.”

Picture this scenario: you’re in a meeting. The “Meeting Minutes Agent” records the session, automatically generates project To-Dos, and extracts next actions. Mention a trip to London-based launch? The Agent proactively asks whether to book flights and hotels aligned with your preferences and handles the calendar sync. One request sets off a chain that unfolds transparently and seamlessly.

AI Concierge But Make It Luxury:

Previous iterations of Vertu’s concierge service were already considered a gold standard. Now, with Agent Q, it evolves into AIGS – an AI-driven intelligence system that can connect the world to you. What’s striking: with just ten lines of code, app developers around the world can plug their services into AIGS. Existing apps don’t need full rebuilds – they can seamlessly integrate. From flight booking to luxury shopping, the system composes atomic services into one effortless delivery. This isn’t just the end of the app era; it’s the beginning of the “service economy”.

But when the AI reaches its limits? Vertu steps in. A human concierge remains accessible 24/7, combining efficiency with empathy – a reminder that luxury tech still values the personal touch.

A legacy interface reborn: Ruby Key becomes Ruby Talk:

Since 2002, Vertu owners have been familiar with the Ruby Key – a physical shortcut to human concierge services. With Agent Q, that button evolves into “Ruby Talk”. A single press engages the AIGS network, a distributed constellation of over 200 specialised agents at your service. It’s a tangible, one-touch interface for a new age of conversational computing. And yes: when AI cannot handle your request, humans still step in – so you’re never losing that sense of real-world service.

The red-carpet button for the digital age – Vertu’s Ruby Talk button summons your personal AI concierge at a single touch.

The craftsmanship story:

“Born in white, one in ten thousand, the White Falcon now takes shape in Vertu Agent Q – sheathed in immaculate crocodile leather, adorned with a falcon-wing SIM chamber, and perfected through a Swiss hinge, 320 hand-assembled components, U-shaped seamless forming, thick gold plating, and a ceramic pillow.” With lines like these, Vertu doesn’t just sell a phone – it sells the experience of owning a work of art.

Camera & creativity:

The photography component of Agent Q is as luxe as its body. At its heart: the world’s only mechanical zoom lens on a smartphone, engineered with precision like a fine Swiss watch.

A golden 35mm focal length lens ensures every frame “restores the world exactly as the human eye perceives it.” Paired with AI Artist templates, conversational AI editing and photo-to-video transformation, Agent Q asserts that creativity should be intuitive and beautiful.

Security that matches the price point:

Luxury today isn’t just about looks-it’s about trust. Agent Q deploys four pillars of security:

  • Hardware Encryption Chip – locks data at the source
  • Triple-System Architecture – “Main, Secret, and Ghost”, each isolated and secure
  • End-to-End Encrypted Sanctum – ultimate privacy in communication
  • A 10 TB Distributed Vault – “untraceable, unreconstructable data storage”

Vertu sums it up: “because true luxury is trusted security”.

Innovation at Harrods:

The choice of Harrods for the launch isn’t by chance – it marks something of a return to Vertu’s spiritual home. “In an industry chasing speed and features, Vertu chooses a different path – to redefine the future of mobile as a service, where every device is not just technology, but a living companion of luxury, intelligence, and trust,” said Molly, CMO of Vertu. Wiji Singh Gorwara emphasised, “It is an honour to bring Vertu back to Harrods, a true homecoming for the brand in one of the world’s most prestigious retail destinations. This partnership represents not only a return, but a statement of Vertu’s enduring place in the luxury market.”

Agent Q is not a phone for the masses-its price and details reflect that. But for the woman who wants more from her device-luxury, intelligence, seamless service-it may well be the future in hand.

The app era? Consider it gracefully retired.
