Forget room service and ocean views – how about a cocktail with a side of Saturn? If all goes according to plan, you’ll soon be able to book a suite orbiting Earth, thanks to the upcoming Voyager Station, a space hotel that’s more sci-fi chic than sci-fi fantasy.
Scheduled to open its (airlock) doors in 2027, Voyager Station will be the first-ever luxury hotel in orbit. It’s the brainchild of Orbital Assembly Corporation, a Sacramento-based startup with intergalactic ambitions, and the whole thing looks like something straight out of Interstellar – only with way better amenities. Think: a full-service restaurant, bar, gym, cinema, and even a concert hall. Space tourism, meet five-star hospitality.

The hotel’s design is bold: a massive rotating wheel, with architecture inspired by none other than Wernher von Braun, the German rocket scientist and space visionary. The spinning structure isn’t just for show – that rotation is what gives Voyager one of its most impressive features: artificial gravity. Thanks to centrifugal force, guests won’t be floating around like zero-G astronauts – at least not the whole time. The station’s simulated gravity will start at about one-sixth of Earth’s (think Moon vibes), with the potential to increase in future builds to Mars-level or beyond.

So, how do you get there? After launching from Earth, guests will arrive at a zero-gravity docking hub, where elevator shafts whisk them away to habitation modules arranged around the station’s rim. It’s less like bunking in the ISS and more like checking into a boutique hotel – just one that happens to be 400 kilometres above sea level.
Voyager Station is expected to house 280 guests and 112 crew members, and if you’re worried about what to do while orbiting the planet, don’t be. From workouts in a gravity-adjusted gym to movies with views of Earth spinning below, boredom simply isn’t on the itinerary.

Pricing is still under wraps (start saving now), but with billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson already racing to commercialise space travel, it’s clear that orbital holidays are more than just a billionaire’s daydream – they’re fast becoming a tech-fuelled reality.
As Orbital Assembly puts it, Voyager Station won’t just take you out of this world – it’ll change how we think about travel, gravity, and maybe even life itself.
