Whistles, yellow cards, extra time – and now a smartwatch fit for football royalty. As the countdown to UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 ticks away (pun fully intended), luxury Swiss watchmaker Hublot is gearing up to be the tournament’s official timekeeper. And no, they’re not just turning up with a few flashy pitch-side boards. They’ve gone full tech-mode.
Starting July 2, referees and their assistants will don the Hublot Big Bang e Gen3, a smartwatch designed exclusively for match-day officials. Think of it as the referee’s ultimate multitasker: it monitors yellow cards, added time, and lets them keep track of the chaos with Swiss-level precision. Because if you’re going to blow the whistle in front of millions, you might as well do it in style.

“The Big Bang e Gen3 is a state-of-the-art smartwatch created exclusively for referees and their assistants,” reads the official UEFA release. Basically, it’s like an Apple Watch that prefers black-tie events and Champions League finals.
The tournament, held across eight venues in Hublot’s homeland of Switzerland, sees the return of the brand’s signature pitch-side presence – including their unmistakable black-and-white logo on LED boards, the iconic Fourth Official’s substitution board, and on-screen graphics for millions of fans watching from home. If there’s a second you miss Hublot, you might not be watching football at all.

And it’s not just refs sporting the brand. Coaches, pundits and even players will be seen rocking watches from Hublot’s latest drop, launched at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 to celebrate 20 years of the Big Bang. Think bold colours, serious tech, and a healthy dose of wrist envy.
Hublot’s love affair with the women’s game doesn’t stop at branding. This summer, two of football’s greatest will be joining the party as Friends of the Brand. Norwegian icon Ada Hegerberg, Ballon d’Or Féminin’s first ever winner and all-time top scorer in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, continues her ambassadorship from 2019.

She’s joined by Spanish powerhouse Aitana Bonmatí, who’s basically been hoarding trophies since birth. With back-to-back Ballon d’Ors in 2023 and 2024, and a World Cup win under her belt, Aitana isn’t just turning heads – she’s bringing Spain into EURO 2025 as tournament favourites.
So yes, the game’s about goals and glory – but this summer, it’s also about GPS tracking, glittering timepieces, and Swiss tech taking over the touchline.
