Kim Kardashian’s latest “friend” has sparked global curiosity, alongside serving us with some serious dystopian ‘Black Mirror’ vibes.

The reality star turned billionaire recently shared clips of herself hanging out with Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus, on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). Designed by Elon Musk’s team and priced at a cool $30,000, the robot is meant for practical tasks—but it seems Kim had more playful ideas in mind. To top it off she followed up with a sultry photoshoot with her new Tesla Bot for her fans.

A Dance-Off with a Humanoid:

In the video, Kim greets the robot with a wave, which it mirrors perfectly. She then asks it to create a hand-heart gesture, which the robot astonishingly mimics. The interaction doesn’t stop there. From hula dancing to mimicking a runner’s stride, the robot follows her every command. “Oh, you’re Hawaiian,” she jokes during an impromptu hula.

Their playful session culminates in a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Despite the robot’s high-tech design, Kim couldn’t resist teasing it for its slow response time. “I beat you,” she laughs.

Fans, of course, were quick to respond with their trademark wit. “Congrats on finding the ultimate low-maintenance boyfriend!” one joked, while another asked, “What’s his name?” Musk himself weighed in with a sunglasses emoji, further fuelling the intrigue.

The Dystopian Vibes Are Real

Tesla’s Optimus robot debuted at AI Day in 2021, with Musk describing its potential to handle repetitive or dangerous tasks, from cooking to elder care. But social media users couldn’t help but draw comparisons to the 2004 movie I, Robot. “Somebody call Detective Spooner!” one commenter quipped. Others warned of a potential “world domination software update.”

Optimus has been praised for its human-like form, designed intentionally to integrate seamlessly into daily life. “If we want a robot to do what humans do, it has to be the same size, shape, and capabilities as a human,” Musk previously explained.
