Apple seems to be quietly retiring its once-essential 3.5mm Lightning to Headphone Jack Adapter, leaving iPhone users scrambling as the product disappears from stores worldwide. Once a lifeline for wired headphone enthusiasts, the adapter now appears sold out on Apple’s UK and US websites. While still available in limited stock in countries like France and Sweden, its days are likely numbered.

The move follows Apple’s pivot from the Lightning cable to USB-C with the iPhone 15 in 2023, signaling the slow phase-out of Lightning-based accessories. Fans of the adapter took to social media to vent their frustration, with one user calling it “the end of an era” and another lamenting, “I use mine all the time for my B&W wired-on-ear headphones.
